Back by popular demand! Pat’s workshops on printing plants on fabric got rave reviews last year, so we’re bringing her back for an encore.

The plants and leaves around us have wonderful details that we often don’t notice. When you roll ink onto plant materials and then press them onto fabric or paper, you will see fine details and create unique pieces. The techniques are easy to learn and will spark ideas about future projects. This workshop will expand to other items in nature, like cross-sections of wood.

You will start your workshop using muslin, and then move on to fabrics that you bring to class. Options include silk or cotton shirts, cotton totes, scarves, baby clothes, aprons. This is a great place to give new life to stained damask napkins, aprons, dish towels – cover those stains with a leaf or a fern! Back at home you will heat set your fabrics so they can be laundered.

You will bring leaves, ferns, and vines to class, plus whatever special fabrics or papers you would like to print. More plant materials, leaves, and fabric will be provided. Paper will also be made available to you to print notecards and framable art.

Printing supplies are included in your workshop fee. Detailed information will be sent to participants before the workshop.

Requirements: No prior experience necessary

Maximum: 20 participants
