Entering Fairs, Contests, and Competitions! Oh My!

When it’s time for county and State fairs, the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival or fiber arts conferences, spinners, weavers, and all textile artists often wonder how they know if they should enter their craft in a competition. I will share my experiences as a handspinning/weaving competitor and a judge, to encourage competing as a way of improving your skills, getting the recognition you deserve, and putting textile arts into the public eye. I will be covering tips for preparation and entering your precious work, whether skeins or finished objects.
