Program by Bev Larson

Program Overview

A show and tell of many basket styles and a range of materials they can be made from — oak, hickory, daylily, sweetgrass, pine needles, horse hair, and many more, from tiny to large.

About the Artist

Bev was born and raised and stayed Hoosier. All her life she has been interested in creating with her hands. In 1988 she was introduced to basket making and the rest is history.

“It is my love and passion. My styles and creativity have evolved over time but the passion has never left. In 2006, a broom making class was offered at a retreat I attended and I again was hooked. Starting with only hand tying brooms until I was able to obtain a kick winder, now brooms are a very close second to my basket passion. In 2016 I had the honor of being named an Indiana Artisan by the State of Indiana, juried in both baskets and brooms. I love to see the joy my baskets and brooms bring to others. I hope you enjoy them as much as I love making them. All my baskets and brooms are proudly made in Lafayette, Indiana.”
