Commitment to Openness, Respect, and Civility
Commitment to Respect & Welcoming to Everyone
The Weavers Guild of Greater Baltimore is committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all members. We welcome everyone to join and participate in all Guild activities, regardless of background, identity, experience, or personal history. We believe that every individual deserves to feel valued and heard, and we expect all members to engage with one another in a way that reflects these values. The Guild actively reaches out to all communities to share the fiber arts.
Respectful Communication & Conduct
The Guild expects all members to speak and act with kindness, compassion, and civility, recognizing that words and actions have an impact on others. The Guild expects members to be open to different perspectives and to engage in discussions with curiosity rather than judgment. The Guild encourages members to engage in open and respectful dialogue if comments or actions are perceived as offensive or harmful.
Addressing Concerns
If a member experiences or witnesses behavior that feels disrespectful or biased, they are encouraged to bring it to leadership’s attention. You are encouraged to email the president and vice president at wggb@wggb.org or you may speak with any board member. Our goal is to handle concerns thoughtfully, considering intent, impact, and opportunities for learning. When appropriate, we support constructive conversations between members to resolve misunderstandings and build mutual understanding.
Together, we can ensure our organization is open to everyone and remains a place where all members feel safe, valued, and respected.
