Program Overview

Using both projected images and woven pieces, Nancy will share her path as a weaver and her love of the technique of tapestry. Included will be sources of her inspiration and how she moves from an idea to a finished weaving. Participants in the weekend workshop will share their samples and cartoon studies.

About the Artist

Nancy Crampton has been weaving for more than fifty years, primarily rugs and tapestry. She took her first weaving class as a college freshman and knew that was it. Nancy holds a degree in art from Western Michigan University and did graduate work at Florida State University. She teaches children and adults in workshops through national and regional weaving guilds, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo Weavers Guild, Michigan League of Handweavers, John C. Campbell Folk School, and Handweavers Guild of America. She sells her work at art fairs and galleries in the Midwest.
